You’re heard of PDF, but have you heard of PDF/A?

The “A” stands for archive, and PDF/A is an ISO-approved standard for long-term archival. It’s a subset of the PDF, but with certain enforced standards which will allow it to be opened without any issues in 50 or 100 years.

While some organizations choose to go with PDF for their archival format, they may not be aware of the advanced, archive-specific features of PDF/A such as embedding original files and maintaining font libraries.
