NextDocs ShareFest 2012 – What a difference 2 years makes!

As we left NextDocs ShareFest 2012 there was definitely a different feeling to the conference this time around compared to the 2010 event. Back in 2010 attendees came with a mission to research and to explore the technology the software had to offer. At that time, the majority of companies were still researching SharePoint and those that already owned SharePoint used it in a limited capacity as a file repository. Jump ahead 2 years and with the release MS SharePoint 2010, which was far superior to previous versions, it is clear that SharePoint has become mainstream within the Life Science Industry. It was great to see the sessions this year focusing less on the product and technology and more on how it is being applied in business processes as well as use cases.

We were also pretty excited to have Ralf Zimmermann Head of Document & Raw Data Management at Roche Diagnostics GmbH, speak about how Roche integrated Adlib’s PDF rendering with SharePoint for regulatory compliance; the resulting system facilitates their submission process to deliver high-quality PDFs to meet FDA (21 CFR Part 11) standards.  If you didn’t get a chance to attend Ralf’s session, or want to read more, you can get the Roche Diagnostics case study.

Lastly, a big congratulations to Kindle Fire winner Aurora Chan (right) seen with Adlib’s Manager of Customer Success, Meagan William (left).
