Synopsis

A Planning System developed by Brentwood Council using Adlib's ExpressConversion Server and OCR software solution was a finalist in the District Council eGovernment Innovation Awards. The project has automated the process of large quantities of paper based planning applications submitted by local residents. Using ExpressRecognition Server, documents are now scanned and automatically converted to PDF, which enables users to view them more quickly than any other document type, while maintaining the original look and feel in a secure format.

The Council now produces the appropriate documents easily enabling them to respond to their clients in a more timely manner. Adlib Software has helped bring about a new method of working within the Planning Department, promoting a smoother and more effective workflow using its OCR software technology.
