Synopsis

QinetiQ, the elite Government defense research organization, formally part of DERA, has selected Adlib's ExpressConversion Server to be an integral part of its Knowledge Store Repository. The Knowledge Store holds vast amounts of data regarding customer reports and projects. QinetiQ recommends that users requesting access to the data have documents converted to PDF files. In order to encourage users to adhere to the PDF format, it is essential that the document conversion process is quick and easy, without having to introduce the users to new software.

With ExpressConversion Server, the users simply email their requests to a watched folder on the server, which quickly convert documents into PDF and emails them back to the users. The ExpressConversion software is hidden from the users who access it through their own email software. With up to 2,000 potential users, not having to introduce third party software has been a great benefit. The Express project has been well received by the users at QinetiQ, and has involved minimal maintenance overhead for the IT staff.
